Basic Responsibilities:

The office manager will be the primary support staff for all Nebraska Cattlemen (NC) departments. Candidates should understand professional office procedures and management and must be able to professionally interact with coworkers, NC members and the general public. The office manager should have excellent organizational skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills. A commitment to producing high quality work, and a willingness to learn various department functions within the organization is essential. Candidates for this position should be skilled in Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook. Prior office management experience is valued, and some level of beef industry knowledge is preferred. 

Specific duties will include:

  • Provide administrative job for all departments.
  • Maintain job descriptions, employee handbook, develop and maintain a current working knowledge of state and federal human resources (HR) forms, laws, and regulations. 
  • Assist with answering phone calls and other administrative duties.
  • Maintain contracts with vendors for services including, but not limited to, copy and postage machines, cleaning and landscaping services, telephone, cable, and internet services.
  • Serve as a liaison to insurance and investment companies. 
  • Prepare and mail monthly membership statements.
  • Maintain and coordinate comprehensive accounting functions including recording deposits, posting accounts receivable and payable, preparing payments, and other financial duties as directed. 
  • Enter all data to be used in preparation of end of month accounting reports.
  • File reports with the Nebraska Office of Accountability and other regulatory agencies as directed.
  • Work with organizations IT vendors(s) to maintain and oversee purchases of computers, software, networking and security infrastructure and network/data backup services. 

The office manage position is a full-time and located in the Nebraska Cattlemen office in Lincoln, Nebraska. The position includes some travel to in-state meetings, as well as other relevant programs. 

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
